Colors


There are tons of colors to choose from!  Most of them are self-explanatory.

Agouti – this is the color of wild guinea pigs.  It’s kind of a brown/gray color, sort of like a ground hog.  Each hair has several bands of brownish colors.



Marked Pattern – usually white with patterns of another color.



Self Pattern – solid-colored guinea pig.

Solid pattern – similar to the self pattern, but it may include agouti and other colors as long as the colors don’t form a pattern.

Beige – beige all over, including the ears and feet.  The eyes are pink.

Black – hair, ears, feet and eyes are black.

Blue – medium shade of gray with a blue or lavender cast.  The eyes are dark blue.






Brindle - mixture of red and black hairs.

Broken - clean-cut patches of two or more colors.

Chocolate - deep, dark brown.  The eyes are brown with a red cast.

Cream – off-white.  The eyes are red or dark.

Dalmation – just like the dogs, there are spots all over in black, beige, blue, chocolate, cream, lilac, orange or red.




Dutch – dark color on the check, neck, forelegs and face in combination with white.




Golden Agouti – chestnut color with and undercoat of blue-black.

Himalayan – body is white with black marking on the nose, feet and ears.  The eyes are pink.

Lilac – medium gray with a purplish tint.  The eyes are pink or dark with a red cast.

Red – deep red fur, ears and feet.  The eyes are dark.

Red-Eyed Orange – just like the name describes.

Roan – white hairs mixed with one or two other colors.  The eyes and ears match the non-white color.



Silver Agouti – bright silver-white.  The eyes are dark with a red cast.

Tortoise Shell – patches of red and patches of black which make a checkerboard pattern.




Tortoise Shell and White – patches of red, black and white that alternate from one side to the other.






White – pure white with no yellow tinge.  The eyes are either pink or dark.
